It’s estimated that by 2030, the number of Americans residing in senior living communities will double from where it is today at one million. And by 2040, the 85-and-older population will triple to 14 million, with an estimated 70 percent needing some form of long-term care.
Spotting a need for a meeting of the minds back in 2015, influence group—producers of intimate, invitation-only B2B retreats—launched the Senior Living Innovation Forum (SLIF). Every year, SLIF connects decision-makers in senior housing for three days of cutting-edge content and strategic sourcing.
Now, influence group is planning a second annual gathering to meet not only increasing demand within the industry, but to address demand in the SLIF community as well. For three straight years, their annual retreat has been at capacity.
“With so much change happening in the industry, meeting once a year simply isn’t enough. SLIF is one of the few places where leaders can challenge themselves to think differently and abandon any assumptions about the future,” says executive producer Michael Owens.
The added dates will see distinctly different locations as well, with SLIF Spring taking place in Napa May 22-24, 2022 and SLIF Fall at the luxury Baha Mar complex in Nassau, Bahamas, November 6-8, 2022. This will make it easier for busy senior housing leaders to join their peers at least once a year.
SLIF is devoted to reshaping senior housing and care because much of what’s offered today simply won’t fly for the generations of seniors ahead. As younger Baby Boomers make their move into senior living communities with a list of new demands, influence group is helping executives in that sector not only prepare but also thrive.
